Eventide

July 27, 1944

I take you in my arms my son;
You are so precious and so much fun.
My heart fills with pride and joy;
I'm so very glad you are my boy.

I throw you up high in the air
And tickle you with short cut hair,
Then you begin to squirm and wiggle
And let out with a laugh and giggle.

When you call for your water bottle
Hurry I with foot on throttle
And it isn't long before I bring
Fresh water for my little king.

Bubble, bubble down the water goes,
Gurgle, gurgle watch it as it flows.
Contented now that day is done
You're ready for sleep my precious one.

I lay you down in your little bed
And relaxed you are from foot to head.
Your eves close and with breath so deep
You enter into the land of sleep.

You peacefully sleep all nicht thru
And await the sun to rise anew
To be greeted again by mother and dad
Whom you both make so very glad.
