Thinking
6/25/42
Our thoughts turn to those of peace;
We pray hostilities cease;
The words on the lips of all,
"Remove from us now this gall."
Lips speak; wo say we abhor
Denounce and despise this war;
Yet no war could ever rage
If man did not set the stage.
Man enjoys war and conflict;
It pleases baser emotion
To which most are addict;
van delights in world commotion,
Thoughts are true force which start
Anything new on this earth;
Even a new beating heart
To which a mother gives birth.
Thoughts are the real things that make
This world in which we are;
It is sort of give and take;
Our thoughts are a shackle bar.
Our thinking is the fetter
That we alone must control
To make this world better
And achieve a peaceful goal.
Thinking produces the act
That we desire to effect;
Thoughts seal forever the pact;
All we can do is accept.
Think what we wish to achieve;
It shall be ours to receive;
Mind thru thinking actuates
That which thought initiates.
Make way for thoughts of peace
hen soon all fighting will cease;
Think today for tomorrow;
Eliminate all sorrow.
Editorial note: "Hostilites" in the second line is almost certainly a typo, so I have corrected it in the transcript.
